It almost feels like you are entering a bomb shelter when walking into Peasant restaurant, but the atmosphere is much different inside the dining room. The interior is comprised of brick and wood and gives off a nice sense of home. Bulky curtains line the walls and candles adorn the tables with their flames. This is a great restaurant to take a date if you are looking for a great warm and romantic setting. Peasant's food is incredible and you'll walk out the door knowing you'll come back again.
If your stomach wants some good Japanese food then head to Ippudo restaurant. This little restaurant is located in the heart of the East Village and offers some great Japanese food. However this is a pretty popular dining spot so you want to be sure that you get a reservation otherwise you will have up to a hour wait or longer but it will definitely be worth it. Don't fret if you have to wait because the food more than makes up for it.
Another great Japanese restaurant you should really consider trying would be Morimotos. If you've ever caught a glimpse of Iron Chef America on the Food Network then you are aware that this is the same Iron Chef Morimoto as seen on TV. Entering this restaurant feels as if you are being taking back to another place in time. The extremely professional staff sets the tone for a wonderful evening and the food is mouthwatering. I just couldn't leave this restaurant off the list even though it is on the more expensive side, so I'm sorry for making you spend more money.
If you want a slice that you won't forget then check out the pizza at Fornino. Located in Brooklyn it is well worth your trek through the busy New York streets. Upon arriving you'll be taken in by the friendly atmosphere and then you'll enjoy some of the best pizza in New York. Fornino is a great restaurant to take the family to enjoy a nice night out.
